Atlantic County is located in the state of New Jersey about 100 mi south of New York City and about 60 mi east of Philadelphia. The county lies along the Atlantic Coastal Plain, with the Atlantic Ocean to the east. Adjacent to the coast are three barrier islands – Absecon Island, Brigantine Island, and Little Beach.
